If you're looking for the quintessential 1970s-style steakhouse with a roaring fireplace (it's gas but looks wood-burning), Old Fields will make you happy. To be clear, as one would suspect, you won't be thrilled with the food if you are a vegetarian. Yes, there's an option and it's a housemade burger but it's not to my liking. Apparently they used to have a really good cauliflower steak but it's no longer on the menu. It's disappointing, however, my time spent in the bar portion of the restaurant made up for it in droves! After we finished dinner (while the back room is slightly less atmospheric, it has cozy booths), we moved up to the bar and fireplace area. In front of the fireplace is a long table and we were lucky to grab seats and enjoy drinks for the rest of the night. This is all I ever want in a bar, honestly. I'll definitely come back for the bar after eating elsewhere. But if you do eat steak or seafood, you will be happy here because my friends all loved their food.

Been here many times for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Portions are large and well cooked, service is attentive, atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is very well kept and clean. My only negative comment is that it is a bit pricey for what it is but if you do not mind shelling out $22.95 for a burger at lunchtime you'll love it here

Just great food and such a cozy spot. Always ny a good go to spot for burger steak or fish

Old Fields is always amazing! I never Have any complaints about this restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious and the drinks are very good! Definitely try out Old Fields is you love BBQ!

The food is good we just had one bad experience the waitress forgot about our food and by the time we got it my husband's salmon was hard on top

We eat here often. Food is very good. Menu could use some lighter options, almost everything is very heavy, and for those who want to eat a bit lighter you are limited to 1 or 2 appetizers. Service is always great, attentive and frielndly. Ambiance is great. Don't really love the back room, acoustics aren't great and it's a bit bright but the bar area and front room are great!

The menu had a great balance of classic favorites and innovative dishes. We particularly enjoyed the Old Fields Burger, which was a delightful blend of flavors that left our taste buds dancing. The portion sizes were just right, allowing us to savor each bite without feeling overly stuffed. To top off our evening, the dessert menu was a sweet indulgence. Norman and I shared the Irish Coffee, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The presentation was impeccable, and the flavors were a symphony of sweetness. Overall, our experience at Old Fields was nothing short of exceptional. We appreciate the effort the staff put into creating a welcoming environment for guests of all ages, especially those in their golden years. From the delicious food to the attentive service, every aspect of our visit was deserving of four stars. As one example, my husband really loves trains, and when we got there, right there on our table was a placemat with a train on it!! We'll surely be returning and recommending this gem to our friends looking for a charming dining experience. Cheers to Old Fields for making our night memorable!

Old Fields is as classic and comfortable as a warm sweater, and the food is impeccable. I love the old-school tavern vibe, and the steaks are out of this world. When I first went this year with my wife and friends, I had the Flatiron steak with original 1956 marinade. I enjoyed a solo dinner recently by the fireplace, and wanted to try one of the other steaks, and the knowledgeable waiter recommended the marinated skirt steak, which was so good I finished every last bite. The fried pickles, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach are amazing too. Cocktails are terrific, I've had a strong and gorgeous Manhattan, and an exemplary bourbon and prosecco cocktail whose name escapes me. Anyway, Old Fields is wonderful.
